I can't recall what how the actual saying goes, but it truly felt like shit this week.
It all started with me contracting some kind of viral infection. It was something between a cold and a flu but just awful. It hit me Friday night last week and had a 48 hour turnaround time. In the middle of this shitty maelstrom my husband had to get on my ass for the worst kind of shit too (no need to go into details - this kind of laundry does not get aired in public). I went to immediate care on Saturday after a boxing in the ears by said hubby and that's when I was told I was fighting an infection of the viral kind.
By the end of the holiday weekend I was feeling better. Then rolled Thursday morning. All of a sudden I got the worst bout of nausea ever. I didn't even get nausea during my pregnancy. I puked a few times that morning, and of course nothing because there was nothing to give up. Bloody hell! Went to my GP and it's the stomach flu.
WTF???
Stayed home all day yesterday feeling like I was sailing the roiling Sydney harbor again, and stayed home today too. Good thing I did.
Juan tweaked his back this afternoon just from stretching in his office chair here at home. He managed to hobble to the bed (less than a 10' walk) to lay down but just his (really our) luck he couldn't get up. So I had to call the ambulance (I must admit I was a little nervous, I had never dialed 911 before in my life). The fire department first came, ministered to Juan real quick, then the ambulance, then off to Tuality in Hillsboro we went.
After some valium and some awesome goofy shit from Juan while knocked out - he was waving his hands, mumbling, and even said "Sookie!" in that hot guttural Bill-like tone (if you watch True Blood, you know what I'm talking about) - the doctor sent us home with a prescription for vicodin and some muscle relaxant. It was determined that it could be a bulging disc but we have to wait 48 hours to truly know.
Anyway, hubby's hobbling and can't really move too much, my stomach's still in knots, and I'm ready for this to be all over.
Good thing the baby's doing great and finally over the pacifier.
What a dumpy ass week!
