I have been so remiss and I have no decent excuse except that I've just been so lazy. I figured it's high time I at least posted an update on what the Ayalas have been up to. So here goes:
Romina
Our little one is just trucking along. She is now 15 months old and is still a peanut (only 18.4 lbs and 23 1/2" high). She's been walking like a pro since 10 1/2 mos, ambles along like it's nobody's business and is now learning to "trot". She finally belts out belly laughs, is still a voracious eater (and absolutely loves ALL fruits), still nurses once a day, no longer drinks milk from a bottle, consistently sleeps 10 hours a night (although sometimes she will pull in 13 hour nights), does sign language in Spanish pretty decent (food, milk, more, water) - except for please which is in English, doesn't say a word yet but points at things and goes "huh", knows what a phone is and actually puts it up against her ear, eats with a spoon and fork very well (yaay!), still loves baths, loves the dogs, enjoys daycare immensely, loves her touch and feel books, is obssessed with the movie Tangled (but doesn't watch any other programs - odd), tries to put her socks or shoes on but can't seem to figure out why it just won't go on, love bubbles, has now 3 teeth (finally!), loves taking daddy's cash out of his wallet (and surprising enough, knows which is the $1 and the $100 bills), loves to go outside and sneaks out on us as much as she can, climbs like a monkey, can finally give kisses (albeit open mouthed), loves technology (just like daddy) - keep the iPad away or she'll never let it go, realized she has a will and exerts it, can be a mighty pill, and just has mummy and daddy completely enchanted.
Juan and Judy (aka daddy & mummy)
Daddy's still busy with work and is still loving it. Mummy's busy with her part-time work and is still loving it. Getting ready to go for a one week trip to Australia - minus said enchanting child. Mummy's not gonna know what to do with herself (drink till she's numb?). Mummy has terribly fallen behind on her chores so was forced to hire a house keeper to come once a week - what a sanity saver; now if the laundry would just do itself. Daddy's been walking a lot and has lost 5+ lbs in 4 weeks; or according to endomondo he's burned 8 burgers. Mummy thinks daddy's starting to look very hot again (not that he didn't before, just more). Will shoot for baby #2 after Australia trip. Is looking forward to a Philippine Christmas this year.
Punk-E and Bud-E (the pets)
The dogs are doing okay except Bud-E, our boy dog, has cancer. We found out a few months ago and it was heartbreaking. It's metastasized mast cell cancer and we're looking at somewhere between 3-6 months; but I think our Bud-E dog may just hang in there and prove us wrong. He's still happy, running around, is adamant about mealt times, and just loves being with us. You can't even tell he's sick! Punk-E still punks Bud-E around but she does adore him. They're awesome and we're glad for the time we have with them.
That's the news from Casa de Ayala. Will try to post diligently again here soon, I promise. Until then, happy spring!
