Sydney - Day 2

Day 2 in Sydney began with a kayaking trip.  I've paddled before (on a dragon boat and a 2 person outrigger canoe) but not on a tandem kayak so I was a little hesitant.  It turned out to be a wonderful trip!

We started at The Spit, more specifically at the bottom of The Spit Bridge, and paddled around the bay towards Grotto Point and Middle Head.  It took about a couple of hours to paddle to these locations and about 2/3 of the way we stopped at Balmoral Beach for some tea.  What a nice little respite and I was introduced to one of the most wonderful Australian delights Tim Tam.  I think I ate half a package of these wonderful cookies.  I'm definitely buying a whole bunch to take home.  After our tea break we rounded up our trip around Middle Harbour and headed back to The Spit.

When we were docking our kayaks we saw a fairy penguin right next to our docked kayaks just happily swimming about hunting for fish.  I think that was the highlight of our trip for the day.
